This playset is based on the 1960's WWII movie 'The Guns of Navarone' which starred Gregory Peck and Anthony Quinn. The movie was about a group of commando's whose mission was to destroy a Nazi gun battery that was located within a mountain. This wonderful playset was produced by a company called 'Marx'. This set was a recent birthday gift from one of my best friends that I have known since I was a kid. I originally received this set back around 1980 as a Christmas gift. Like many of my childhood toys, I never remembered what happened to them!

 

It was a treat to once again own this amazing play set. My son's were in awe when I opened up the box. They have not stopped wanting to play with it! I have been having fun playing with this set with my son's. It has been great to see them take some time away from video games and the computer to use their imagination and play old school like I used to as a kid! It makes my inner child smile!
